About Ester Hana

Born in a small town of Cebu in The Philippines, Ester Hana made music her life activity. Using music as her vessel, she traveled the world, sharing her gift with fans in Bangkok, Zurich, Geneva, Gstaad, Paris, Foianno de la Chiana, Berlin, Stockholm, the British Virgin Islands, Toronto, Monte Carlo, New York and Las Vegas.  In 1974, she set roots in the bustling city of Chicago, with her husband Arpong Hanviriyapunt.  There, they raised their three children--Kathleen, Robert and Stuart.



Since making Chicago her home, Ester has graced countless venues in the Windy City, including: Europe at Night, Punchinello's, Michigan Avenue’s Drury Lane Theatre and World Playhouse, Davenport’s, Lakeview Theatre, Mayne Stage, Wilmette Theatre, Skokie Theatre, Joplin’s Java Café, Hot House, Gallery Café.

"Ester has graced theatres, clubs, lounges & cabarets, She has performed in concerts, jazz quartets, choral arrangements and even been a one-woman show. 

She's a singer, pianist and musical pioneer."  

Through all of her success, she never lost touch with her roots. She partners with the Dalaguete Music Foundation (DMF), to support Filipino children, in her hometown, who leverage music as a connection to furthering their academic studies. 

Ester majored in piano performance at the Chicago College of Performing Arts and graduated with a master’s degree in music. Aside from her love and commitment to her art, she adores her four grandchildren and continues to uphold her commitment to environmental consciousness.
